The co-teacher you've always wanted - and I’m in your corner.
WELL, HELLO!Hi, I'm Marie. I've been teaching high school Theatre and ELA for nearly twenty years, and I built The Caffeinated Classroom because I know exactly how it feels to plan every lesson alone, direct a production with very little support, and still show up Monday morning ready to give it everything.
This is where I share what's actually working in my classroom - YouTube deep-dives, free lesson plans, and real talk about teaching Theatre and English in today's schools. No gimmicks or corporate curriculum speak - just one veteran teacher helping other teachers.
Poke around & please steal what you need. You're in good company. :)
Watch Me Teach
My YouTube channel is where I pull back the curtain on what's actually happening in my Theatre and ELA classrooms - endless brainstorms, lesson walkthroughs, planning sessions, and honest reflections on what worked and what didn't.
If you’re looking for teaching highlight reels, this isn’t the place to find them. This is real life in the classroom.
Steal My Lesson Plans
Every month I share exactly what I'm teaching in my Theatre and ELA classrooms - real lesson overviews, not polished fantasy plans.
These are the plans I wish someone had handed me when I was starting out. If you're a newer teacher looking for a solid starting point, or a veteran who just wants a fresh idea without rebuilding from scratch - this is for you.
Real Theatre and ELA lesson overviews (updated monthly)
Honest notes on what worked and what flopped
Free, always - no catch!
Let’s Hang Out on Instagram
This is where I share what's actually happening in my classroom - the bellringers that worked, the ones that didn't, and the kind of behind-the-scenes teaching life that makes you feel a little less alone on a Thursday afternoon.
Theatre (controlled) chaos… ELA timesavers… The inevitable afternoon coffee… Never a dull moment!

Full Theatre units - tested, scaffolded, and ready to teach
Production systems from auditions to closing night
ELA crossover lessons that work in both classrooms

A little more about me
WELL, HELLO!I'm Marie - a high school Theatre and ELA teacher with nearly twenty years in the classroom, a Master's in Theatre Arts, and an unwavering belief that teachers deserve better support than they usually get.
I teach in the same school district where I grew up and where my own kids go to school. I still direct productions and I still plan lessons on Sunday afternoons.
I built The Caffeinated Classroom so that you don't have to figure any of this out alone.
