Happy New Year everyone!! I sincerely can't believe it is the year 2019, and with the start of a new year comes all the fresh start goal-setting resolution goodness we can handle! (And even some we can't!)
Setting teaching goals is something we've been trained to do since our student teaching days - even as a tenured teacher I am still asked to set goals during my evaluation years, track my progress towards achieving those goals, and then evaluate my goal achievement at the end. This all essentially begins with good intentions, and then those intentions get lost in the rat race that is the school year and all of my work is essentially hoops I jump through in order to complete my evaluation... (Sound familiar, anyone??)
This past fall I set out to revamp my entire teaching practice. It has been a bit of a whirlwind (a fact to which those of you following me on Instagram can attest!) and I have been in a constant cycle of creating, implementing, and reflecting. Through this process, I have developed many teaching goals that actually ring true for me, my classroom, and my teaching practice. I boiled down my goal-setting process to 3 steps to figure out the things you actually want and need to accomplish.
Take a look at the video below to get started setting your own teaching goals for 2019!
